Homemade Immunity Booster Syrup

IMMUNE BOOSTER SYRUP

GINGER LEMON HONEY CINNAMON

Benefits

Honey is the star of the syrup. It has been used as a remedy for centuries. Honey is an amazing natural alternative for curing sore throat and cough. It has an abundant source of antioxidants, and also has antibacterial and antifungal properties.

My second most used home cure for colds and cough is Ginger. Ginger does wonders for the digestive symptom, helps with nausea, indigestion and even relieves gas. It is also great for menstrual cramps, bronchitis, cough and muscle pain according to Medical News Today.

Cinnamon is a powerful addition to the mix. Cinnamon contains antioxidants with anti-inflammatory effects. Antioxidants can help the body from disease. It also has antiviral, antibacterial and antifungal properties as well.

Add lemon to the mix and you have your Winter covered! Lemon is antibacterial, alkalizes the body and is full of Vitamin C. All the things you need to boost your immunity system for the Winter!

Ingredients

  • 12-16oz Raw Local Pure Honey
  • Ginger Root (Peeled and Sliced)
  • 2-3 Lemons (Sliced)
  • 3 Tbsp. Organic Cinnamon Powder

Instructions

  1. Wash ginger and dry thoroughly. Using the side of the spoon, scrape the skin off and slice most of the ginger and grate the rest of it. If you are using a bigger jar to store it in, you may use more ginger to accommodate.
  2. Wash lemon with vinegar or a fruit wash and dry thoroughly. Slice the lemon into slices with the skin on. Remove the seeds.
  3. Prepare your jar by adding ¼ of honey into the jar, then add a layer of sliced lemons, on top of that add a layer of ginger and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
  4. Keep repeating the process until the jar is close to the top line, and top it off with the grated ginger and remaining cinnamon powder.
  5. Use after storing for 1 week, the longer it steeps, the more beneficial it will be.  Add 1 Tbsp. of syrup to an 8oz glass of hot water, and enjoy. Store in the fridge for up to 4 months.
