We all love face masks for so many reasons: 1. They come in sheet form; 2. in splash form; 3. in clay form, and now we're adding 4. in DIY form, because, let's be honest—we're sometimes lazy. Like really lazy, and/or don't have the desire (or the money) to run to the store every week for a new face mask. In a perfect world, we would all be given a face mask and just chill on the couch in bliss, but the universe has other plans for us! 

The idea of just delving into the stash of goodies in the kitchen makes this budget-friendly hack feels like a day at the spa. So when you want to give your skin some TLC, but can't bring yourself to leave the vicinity of your humble home, try these mask recipes. Get ready for a beautiful at-home glow money can't buy!

Recipe for Face Masks

The homemade face mask recipes outlined in this blog post are for skin concerns including, acne, dehydration, dark spots, discoloration, brightening, skin tightening, wrinkles and blemishes using all-natural ingredients.

Refreshing Strawberry Mask

This recipe is for vitamin C goodness. Strawberries contain gentle acid that exfoliates, brightens and fades dark spots.

What you need:

  • 5 strawberries
  • 1 tbsp. yogurt
  • 1 tsp. honey

What to do:

  • Blend all ingredients together to make a smooth paste
  • Apply the mask evenly on the face
  • Wait 20 min and rinse with warm water

Note: This all-natural face mask is perfect for all skin types, however, can only be used once.

 Refreshing Cucumber Mask

 

This is the perfect mask because the cucumber leaves the skin with a cooling feeling. It is also a very moisturizing mask for dehydrated and dull skin. 

What you need:

  • ½ cucumber
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 tbsp. yogurt
  • 1 tsp. honey

What to do:

  • Mix all the ingredients in a blender until smooth
  • Apply the face evenly on the skin
  • Leave on for 20 min
  • Rinse with warm water

Note: This all-natural face mask is perfect for all skin types, however, can only be used once.

 Banana Mask

This homemade mask is best used for oily skin. This is to reduce the oil, acne and pore size while maintaining moisture and giving the skin a beautiful glow. 

What you need:

  • 1 Banana
  • 2 tbsp. yogurt 
  •  Juice of ½ a lemon

What to do:

  • Mash the banana
  • Mix the banana with yogurt and lemon juice
  • Apply evenly on face
  • Let sit for 20 min
  • Rinse with warm water

Note: This all-natural face mask should be used twice a week to see great results

Clay Facial Mask

Clay is excellent at removing oil, dirt and impurities. It also stimulates blood flow to the skin, making it radiant.

What you need:

  • 2 tbsp. clay
  • 1 tbsp. yogurt
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1 egg
  • ½ ripe banana

What to do:

  • In a glass bowl, mash together clay, yogurt, honey, egg and banana until smooth, creamy paste
  • Using your fingers, apply the mask evenly on the face and neck, avoiding eye area. 
  • Let stand for 20 min, make sure to flex and relax facial muscles. 
  • Rinse off with lukewarm water. Pat down face and neck with a dry towel. 

Note: This all-natural face mask is perfect for normal skin.
